What to Expect for Meet and Greet
Meet and greets typically last between 15 to 20 minutes. Please have your pet’s favorite treats on hand, and make sure to inform us of any allergies, as we also bring treats! The purpose of the meet and greet is to establish trust with your pet and start off on the right foot. During this time, we’ll discuss your pet’s needs, daily routine, and personality to ensure we provide the best care possible. A 15-minute walk is included following the meet and greet. For pets that are protective or reactive, multiple meet and greets may be necessary. Book your meet and greet below!
Booking, Payment & Cancellations
Booking, communication, and payments are all conveniently handled through our Time To Pet portal. We're happy to assist with account creation and scheduling visits! Invoices are easily accessible within the portal. We also accept payments via Zelle, Venmo, and cash. Cancellations made more than 24 hours in advance incur no fee. For cancellations within 24 hours of the scheduled visit, 50% of the total fee will be charged.
What to Expect During Our Visits!
The Doggone Essentials
While every visit is tailored, we make sure a few things stay the same for your peace of mind: plenty of sniffing on walks, one-on-one time before and after each visit, fresh water, food if needed, and of course, treats. We use Time To Pet to time and GPS track visits to keep you informed, sending you an update with a photo after every visit so you can feel connected, no matter where you are.
Sniff-Tastic Walks
On our walks, safety is always a priority, but we also let your pup enjoy the joy of sniffing and exploring at their own pace. Sniffing is such an enriching experience, and we love encouraging this natural behavior that brings them so much joy. If your dog is open to it, we’re happy to facilitate friendly meet-and-greets with other pups, adding a little extra fun to their adventure!
Paw-sitive Enrichment
Did you know that just 15 minutes of mental stimulation can tire a pup as much as 30 minutes of physical exercise? That’s why we love enrichment! After a walk, we keep the fun going with activities that engage and stimulate your pet’s mind. We understand that every pet is unique, so we offer a variety of options—especially great for rainy days. Check out our enrichment menu for indoor activities like treat puzzles, scavenger hunts, and training games. Puppies love fetch and tug, while older dogs find calm in coat brushing. We also turn on Dog TV/music and offer a frozen treat or chew to keep your pup happily engaged long after their visit ends.
Pet Sitting for Trips
Your pet’s routine is our top priority! We’ll schedule visit times and lengths in advance to fit their needs and keep their tail wagging. Each visit is tailored to include daily walks, outdoor time, and essential care, all in line with their current schedule. After every visit, you’ll receive a thoughtful text update with pictures through Time to Pet, keeping you connected and reassured no matter where you are.
Choosing the right visit length ensures your pets get the care they need. For instance, if your dog needs a 30-minute walk and feeding, plus attention for your cat, a 45-minute visit is ideal. We make every minute count to keep your pets happy, healthy, and loved.
Based on our experience, three visits (30-45 minutes each) are typically enough to keep most adult dogs active and on track with their routine. Dog Homes
Pet sitting for trips at Dog Homes provides personalized care for dogs, as well as other pets like cats, fish, reptiles, and more. Every visit is built around your pet's routine, including daily walks, outdoor time, playtime, and enrichment activities. Just let us know your pets' unique needs, and we'll handle the rest. For households with multiple dogs, we offer a 20% flat rate per additional dog for the entire trip, making it a more cost-effective option for extended stays.
Kitty Cat Care
While dogs often steal the spotlight, cats and other small pets deserve special attention, too! We’ve tailored our visits to ensure they receive the care they need. Our pet sitting during trips includes care for cats and smaller pets in your home, with services like litter box maintenance, feeding, fresh water, one-on-one time, and playtime to keep your pets engaged. After every visit, you'll receive a text update and pictures, so you can stay connected and rest assured that your furry (or scaly) friend is in good hands.
Overnight Stays
Overnight stays begin around 7:30/8:00 PM and end the following morning at 7:30/8:00 AM, offering a full 12 hours of attentive care. During this time, we ensure your pet is comfortable, loved, and well-cared for. The stay includes two walks—one in the evening and one in the morning. We also take care of all the essentials and follow your specific guidelines to keep your pet happy and at ease.
For the best care, we recommend booking overnight stays with one or two additional visits during the day. This ensures that your pet receives the care and attention they deserve every 4-6 hours.
Comforting Constant Care
Ideal for pets who need around-the-clock attention, our constant care service includes a minimum of three consecutive hours in your home. We provide loving care throughout the visit, following your specific guidelines to ensure your pet’s needs are met. This service is perfect for pets who require more interaction, exercise, or simply extra comfort while you’re away.

Recommended Walking Hours
We prioritize the safety and well-being of both pets and pet sitters, which is why we recommend a carefully planned walking schedule. Based on our experience through all seasons, this schedule ensures your pup enjoys their time outside at the most comfortable temperatures. When walks fall outside these hours, they may be shorter and complemented with engaging indoor enrichment to keep your pet active and content.

Weathering the Walk (Inclement weather)
We always strive to keep your pet’s routine consistent, regardless of the weather. For rough conditions, we come prepared, but we ask that you provide any necessary pet clothing and/or towels near your dog’s leash and harness. In severe weather, we may suggest rescheduling a walk, or we may shorten outdoor time to a quick bathroom break followed by indoor enrichment. If weather conditions make it unsafe to provide services, we will work with you to find the best solution and ensure your pet’s care is not compromised.
